- Capturing Kids Hearts is also another staple in the district. This program revolves around building relationships with all students, through meeting and greeting, social contracts, and last but not least, positive affirmations.
- The third staple is Restorative Justice. We believe it is important for students to develop plans (with guidance from staff) that curb negative behaviors.
- We have completed implementation of the BPEG (Bully Prevention Grant).
District or School-Wide PBIS & Social Emotional Learning
- PBIS, CKH, RJ – Strategic Priority #3 is ‘Capturing Kids Hearts and Captivate Their Minds’ and below is an outline of the structures currently in place.
- MVSD takes great pride in programs in place to provide school district wide Positive behaviors. PBIS is a staple of the district and is now being evaluated to to make improvements. One of the ideas is to make the acronyms 3 letters, and the same across the district. However, every building currently promotes PBIS in their own way.
- The district has completed evaluating our PBIS processes at the elementary level with the Bullying Prevention Grant. BPEG Updated Overview
- We firmly believe in PBIS, Capturing Kids Hearts, and Restorative Justice programs as the backbone of our emotional learning program. With the help of the “Make It Happen” grant, we will be able to invest in screeners to help in this process, see our Comprehensive Health & Wellness Plan for more details.
