For the 2026 National History Day in Colorado (NHDC) State Contest, 613 students were registered to compete representing winners from 10 regional contests across the state, who showcased 381 projects.
We had 7 students compete this last weekend between Monte Vista Senior High School and the OLA. This is the most students that we have sent to the State Competition yet! Our students were very professional and they all did an awesome job presenting their history projects to judges! They had great interviews and showed that they were the experts in their respective subjects! Our student competitors included Addison Mondragon, Daniel Perez, Syrenna Keeling, Jesus Aguilar, Tyler Alley, Mark Martinez, and Lola Sondrol from the OLA. They showcased their knowledge using a variety of project forms including a website, paper, documentary, and a performance.
Congratulations to all of these students for having the determination and perseverance to prepare their projects and represent themselves and our district so well!!! Well done everyone!!!
