Baby Chicks Hatch At Marsh!

Our first graders at Marsh had the opportunity to observe developing chicken embryos from day one through day 21 when the chicks hatched. Through a process called “candling” we were able to see changes that were happening inside the egg!  We recorded the changes in our Egg Journals and anticipation grew as we counted down days to the hatch date. The day finally arrived and we watched the eggs rock back and forth as the chicks made their way out.  For the next two weeks we watched the chicks grow from sleepy newborns into energetic and rambunctious peeps.  The experience was engaging and rewarding for students and adults alike!
