MVMS 7th Graders Get Hands On Experience
Mrs. Romero’s 7th grade students dissected fetal pigs to identify and understand the body systems. They explored the muscular, circulatory, respiratory, endocrine, digestive, excretory, reproductive, and nervous systems. Not only did students identify the systems and structures, but they also learned the functions. Fetal pigs have structures closely related to humans so, the students were able to relate what was learned to our human anatomy. The preserved fetal pigs provided the students with a complete and comprehensive hands-on tool for them to practice developing explanations and models, analyze data, and argue evidence. It is surely an experience they will never forget!
