Sensory Garden

MVSD Students Participate in Sensory Garden Activities

The CSU Extension office and Carol Pastore are working to provide hands on opportunities for special education students to get hands on experiences through a Sensory Garden. Elementary and Middle School students were able to plant a variety of flowers and vegetable seeds that will be transplanted to an outside garden. They participated in activities around how plants grow and what it takes to build a successful garden! They will return in the fall to see how their plants have done and possibly do some harvesting! This is just the beginning of what we hope to be a larger, more involved project for students!
